Series of deadlift videos and photos here. Video #1 is me deadlifting my 3rd set of 2 at 375 (bodyweight of 174) the other day. Video #2 is me deadlifting similar weight for 1 rep 3 years ago, and I was 10 lbs heavier then.
In between those videos, I had a serious injury and had to back wayyyy off on deadlifts, learn to breathe right, check my ego, and fix my form. Thank god. Look how much better I move in video 1, how the weight moves, better form, etc. it almost looks effortless. Compare my form at point of liftoff in photo 3 and 4 (and the look on my face! Ha). 3 points: 1) record yourself regularly when training. If I didn’t have these videos, I wouldn’t know how much I have improved. Get a cheap gorilla tripod and set up your phone.
2) sometimes you have to step back and fix things before you step forward. I have no doubt I’ll be hitting 405 and blowing past it now that I fixed stuff.
3) How bout that sweet ass NF shirt?! (gear.nerdfitness.com)
