My current @chanel.beauty collection, minus one item.
#LaCrèmeMain (original and texture riche) – I was a bit worried about the smell, but these aren’t as bad as Chanel’s blushes or lipsticks. These are nicely hydrating, absorb well, etc. They’re not any better than your typical $10 hand cream, but they’re fun and they look cute. I won these in a giveaway from one of my favourite beauty bloggers, @beautylookbook!
#RougeAllureInk (140 Amoureux) – This is a liquid lipstick for people who don’t like liquid lipsticks. I purchased this after reading @ssnardd’s blog post on it. I completely agree with her review and would recommend reading it, unless you’re on a no/low buy.
#RougeCocoShine (434 Mademoiselle) – I thiiiink this was discontinued with the Rouge Coco Flash release. This is one of my favourite lipstick shades, but I don’t wear it as much because of the scent.
#RougeAllureVelvet (69 Abstrait) – This is the prettiest pink and it’s not even that drying for matte formula. So good.
#OmbrePremière (820 Memory) – This is a great cream eyeshadow for oily lids. It’s not a mousse and it dries quickly (blend immediately), but the colour, finish, last power, etc. make it all worth it. It also layers well with other shades.
#JouesContraste (370 Élégance) – Unfortunately, this smells too much for me to enjoy it.
#SoleilTandeChanel – This looks terrifyingly orange in swatches, but it turns out okay on my face. I’d recommend it if you love cream bronzers, but it’s not *that* special.
#RougeCocoLipBlush (not pictured) – I purchased this a few months ago, after I had taken this photo. Review to follow.
Overall, I’m not the biggest Chanel fan, but I do enjoy these products and will probably purchase more items if I’m interested. I haven’t tried their powder eyeshadows, and I probably won’t unless they release something really special. Their nail polish appeals to me, but I have a hard time justifying the cost when there are so many great indie brands. I would love to hear about your favourite and least favourite Chanel products, and your thoughts on the brand in general.
