US -2019 Review ✂️🐇 You definitely can tell Jordan Peele knows exactly what he is doing. Just the way the camera moves, everything is very precise and calculated.
I’m feeling split on this.
On one hand, I would say this movie is undeniably very good. It feels old school in a way, like your watching a classic that as been around for years, but your seeing it for the first time. Things start off a little slow, taking its time. Like a Hitchcock film or an crazy episode of the Twilight Zone. But don’t be fooled by the slow start. There were many scenes and sections of the film in which I was silently freaking out in my seat.
So on the other hand, there is the story. It’s not difficult understand, I was completely into it. The mystery aspect however, it rises more questions than answers. In a sense I feel like I needed more from the story than what we got. But its also clear that every aspect of this movie, every element was deliberately made to be this way.
I’d love to see Jordan Peele continue in horror/ thriller films and expand into other genres too. I feel like he could really do anything.
It’s definitely good. Worth seeing. Even with some of the story feeling less polished in certain places, this just felt like an event. Had to be there.
