Here at the bottom of the tower I met an amazing Brazilian girl. Starting with a nice "hello" , and asking if she could sit next to me as she didn't feel safe with all the random guys trying to sell drinks led to a 2 hour long conversation about life, the choices we make along the way and uncertainty of where it might lead you.
Some places open your eyes to new possibilities and others leave you questioning your decisions... It made me think about the journey we're on and the people we meet along the way: ~ Some are there for you through thick and thin, they'll help you when you are down and are the ones with you when you're at your best - and no matter how much time you spend apart you'll one day find each other again! They're the mountains that hold you together ️
~ Some join you for the good times but not for the bad. They come and go! They're the rivers that flow though you ️
~ Some cause you to question whether humanity deserves to go on. They litter, they destroy, they kill without provocation, they don't care about others! Those are the earthquakes, the volcanoes, the fires
Apart they don't mean much but together they make the world we live in - it's a living system and one can't survive without the other this world may not be perfect but it's ours and it's our actions that guide its future.
The gentleman I stayed with the last few days told me this quote he lives by: "If you see a job to do, it's yours!“. There might be problems in this world, there may be things you disagree with, there may be things you want to do, places you want to be but if you don't stand up and do something about it, who will?! I'll leave you with the words I live by: "If not now, when?“ - the choices we make now, the things we stand for, the people we help. Everything starts with the decisions you make, today, tomorrow and everyday from here on... Go talk to that person you have a crush on, book the trip you've always wanted to go on, go skydiving, climb a mountain, feed the homeless, dance your heart out at a festival, learn an instrument, paint something, start talking to strangers.... Because if not now, when?
