Needed this mask to filter out the smell of BS my phone carrier fed me when I tried to make good on my phone replacement plan.
After being passed off to a third party insurance company, that doesn’t deal directly with my phone carrier, I was told that they no longer stocked my phone. Even though my carrier still sells the the pixel 2? Instead they offered me a Samsung Galaxy S8. Now, no offence to anyone who has an S8, i’m sure it’s a rad phone, but just like people are partial to apple, i’ve taken a liking to the google products.
Moreso, a simple google search of a pixel 2XL and S8 side by side comparison, shows the Pixel2 outperforms in almost every category, including packing a heftier price tag, which I had paid earlier this year. So how in the f*ck did they decide they were of equal value?
So I said nope, not acceptable. This is where things got fun. After getting nowhere initially, I asked to speak to someone higher up. After being put on hold for five minutes, the same person came back on to tell me her computer had magically crashed and she had lost all record of my service request and I'd have to start all over again, unfortunately there office was now closed so I’d have to call back the next day. Greeeaat. Attempt 1 Fail.
Day 2 I call back, and am offered the same S8, again I say nope, quote the clear differences in the phones, and ask to speak to someone higher up in customer care, after initially refusing they finally transfer me. Over an hour on hold, I eventually give up as I had to get back to work. Attempt 2 Fail.
Day 3, I make one more attempt, again as the service request was not completed I have to start all over again. This time atleast the person on the line seems to be more understanding and even admits she agrees the S8 offered insn’t up to the same spec as the Pixel2 XL, and agrees to transfer me to customer care. At this point I’m pretty f*cked off about the whole experience, partly because I’ve had to listen to the same 5min recording 100 times over about how they will investigate anyone performing insurance fraud, or trying to scam them....
