Masroor Mehdi and Amir Hussain recite a Marsiya before a Majlis in Maharaja Sahib’s Imambada. The Majlis was then addressed by Hujjat al-Islam wal Momineen, Allamah Syed Uroojul Hasan Rivzi Sahib, ‘Meesum’. He spoke about a verse from the the Ayat al-Kursi of the Quran in which God states there is no compulsion in religion, and how to read this in light of the other verses of the Quran. .

This Imambada is located in the Mahalsara, which is the women’s section of the Qila. It is secured with a ‘qanaat’ to uphold the women’s privacy so they may listen to the Majlis. .

The white Alam (flag) represents peace and the red colour over this white cloth is the telltale of the #TragedyOfKarbala where Imam Hussain (AS) did not go to have a war but to move away from the boundary of the then tyrant ruler. But He was cordoned in Karbala. On 10th Muharram 61 Hijri He was slaughtered by the army of more than 10,000 of the ruler whereas Imam Hussain had just 72 friends and family members in total, who were massacred in Karbala.
