As I'm on the tube on my way home from a party yesterday I realise I have a love heart sticker stuck to my head as a decoration.
Not wanting to look out of place on an otherwise sober tube train l removed it and stuck it to my phone.
15 minutes later, I notice a girl, sat opposite me to the right.
She's crying. She appeared alone.
As I approach my stop, I get up and bend to where she was sitting.
I said "I want you to have this". It was my little love heart sticker. 💖
I said "everything will be OK". She smiled and looked appreciative.
I get off the tube and make my way home, smiling that I'd done a good deed for the day.
As I'm stood on the escalator I get a tap on the shoulder. It's her.
She looked at me and said "thank you" in the most, heartfelt, appreciative tone of voice I could have wished for.
I said to her: "Two months ago I moved to Madrid, and on my very first night there I was crying in one of the squares when a girl came up to me to give me a hug, and I was so appreciative to her for that - I'm just paying it forward." I hope that somewhere out there on Instagram is another post where she is saying thank you to the weird party girl who gave her a love heart sticker as she was crying on the tube.
