In case you don’t know it’s International Education Week! This is a weeklong celebration about the benefits of international education and exchanges around the world. From short-term study abroad, to summer internships or yearlong fellowships like @the_fulbright_program, it encourages people to participate in these activities. My number one tip on pursuing an experience abroad is...
BE INTENTIONAL. Seriously. Google any and all opportunities, programs, scholarships, etc. to go abroad. Stalk them on social media for important deadlines and to see what their participants do. Talk to former participants. Ask your school or organization about their offerings sooner than later. No one is gonna come to you. You have to advocate for yourself!!
I started traveling and blogging due to study abroad, and now working in global programs, I’m suuuper appreciative of global exchanges. They helped me find my voice and passion for travel. It even led me to my grad program. @packslight is another great resource as she won $40,000 in scholarships abroad!
Where would you go? If international education is something you want to do, hopefully you can! It’s never too late. You don’t have to be a “traditional student” either. There are so many programs. And always DM me if you have questions.
