I don’t hop on board with any old hoopla, but #nationallazyday is something I can really “get down with”. Especially having had my appendix removed yesterday, this picture has me lusting hard for my boat bed right now. It will be a few days before I return to it, and to life on the water, but in the mean time, and in honor of #NationalLazyDay , let’s talk about my bed for a long, long while...
• It qualifies as a proper v-berth considering it was built right into the bow and is indeed, v shaped. • Instead of separating the 7 ft wide space to allow for multiple beds, I built a single platform across the whole space (with help- thx Meggy). • Over 7ft wide, 4 ft of headroom and lots of storage below.
• The marine mattress from #foamite on the #danforth has been fab and they had no prob making it to measure.
• My mama made it three sets of v-shaped fitted sheet sets to allow for a little extra time between laundry days (she knows me well). • I covered a king duvet with a silky ivory check and 3 giant pillows in a taupe ticking for nautical flair. • Baby blue palm and tie dye toss cushions by @lovehodaddy add playfulness, but the sunlight that sneaks in from the overhead windows really makes me melt - figuratively, and some days literally.
• The white roped throw is a soft fabric I backed with a light blue sheeting and it gets pulled up - or carried around the boat, often. I love the weight of the heavy knit, juxtaposed with the cool, crisp sheet. • The brass reading light was a super @restoregta find and really pops against the walnut coloured walls. • Next season’s addition will be the moonlights, which are already roughed into the ceiling directly overhead ... Next #nationallazyday bed, I promise to be with you. And maybe #nationalicecreamday and #nationalsisterday too. Since I usually eat ice cream from bed and don’t have a sister anyhow. #bedforlife #ionlylovemybedandmymommaimsorry #bedroomgoals
