does anyone else love the post office as much as me? they’re like libraries... with everything going electronic, they have the feel of something that’s becoming a relic. #portland #postoffice #accidentalwesanderson

The last time we raised the question of metric measuring of time 🕰️ but now let's get further with the thought! 💭 What if there would be a new standard for the whole year? 📅 A year would be still 365 days, but divided in 13 equal sized months (28 days x 13 months = 364 + 1 = 365). The first day of the month would always be a Monday. The last would be a Sunday. Each month would be 28 days long, thus consisting of exactly 4 weeks. 🖖 The 365th day, the one day left over would be the New Year's Day, not a weekday or weekend, it's a magic day. 🎇 Everything else is easy. If someone says "I'll see you on the 19th", you know it's on a Thursday. It doesn't matter what month, it doesn't even matter what year, it's going to be on a Thursday. 😏 Interesting idea, isn't it? Would you choose to live like that? Could you accept having your birthday always falling on a Wednesday? Tell us what you think! More info coming soon #byBES

Juanda Airport | Sidoarjo, Indonesia | c. 1964

Juanda International Airport (JIA) (Indonesian: Bandar Udara Internasional Juanda) is an airport located in Sedati, Sidoarjo. Located approximately 12 kilometers (8 miles) from Surabaya, serving the Gerbangkertosusila, the metropolitan area of Surabaya plus extended urban area. It is the second-largest and second-busiest airport in Indonesia after Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta International Airport

Opened in 1964 as a naval air base of Indonesia, it replaced the previous airport in Morokrembangan, near Tanjung Perak harbor and was originally used as home base for the Indonesian Navy's fleet of Ilyushin Il-28 and Fairey Gannet bombers

The airport actually takes its name after Djuanda Kartawidjaja, the 10th and last Prime Minister of Indonesia. An ethnic Sundanese noble from the court of Cirebon, Djuanda, it was he who initially suggested the airport be developed

Operations and management of JIA were taken over by ''PT Angkasa Pura I' in January 1985, and flights to Singapore, Hong Kong, Taipei and Manila were first offered in December 1987. The airport did not receive its international status until opening its first international passenger terminal in December 1990

The building has a capacity of eight million passengers per year and features a 51,500 m² domestic passenger terminal, a 20,200 m² international terminal and a 15 storey control tower. The previous terminal buildings are still in use today by the Indonesian Air Force
