Funds needed to stay open! We are down to less than $30 now, have not paid salaries, or rent, and cannot feed the animals on this amount of money with no donations coming in.
We cannot keep doing this. The constant crisis is too much for all of us working to help these animals and the insecurity of the animals lives day to day without vet care and without funds for food is overwhelming. People want to hear happy stories, but we cannot even pay the bills and pay our staff and we are expected to have endless before and after shots, many animals sitting in cages, and sick and dying animals covering our floors that we’re saving. We aren't that type organization to exceed our limits for the sake of media and if that is what you need, I can recommend literally any other rescue in Vietnam. However, we are doing our best for the animals we have with the extremely limited resources we have and we need your help to be able to not quit this. The animals we have rescued continued to need care and while they were all in crises when we got them, they are all now happy and healthy and based on the current system for nonprofit funding, that isn't going to keep them alive because looking healthy does not get anyone donations that will last until their adoption.
Any system that relies on crisis to maintain itself is completely broken. The system of nonprofit fundraising for animal rescues is centered entirely around the donor feel-good experience and pushes rescues to take on far more animals than they have resources for while stretching the limits of energy of its staff. Having standards of welfare that are good for the animals and showing those as opposed to appeasing the people who want to see endless before/after shots on media and hoards of animals suffering in order to feel compelled to donate is detrimental to our ability to continue to stay open and to ever get back to doing the work we know we can do to help animals on a large scale. The only way we have ever gotten any money at all is by being completely broke. That is just sick. We need your help.
