“Self Care” is an expression that is becoming increasingly popular and everyone has their own version of what self care is to them.
For some it’s spending a child-free afternoon in a coffee shop or spa.
For some, it’s a bubble bath and book.
For others it’s a day out with the family. 💕
All these are things are beautiful things that makes us feel good, but these external things can take planning, time and/or money.
They are not always possible to do often, and when we don’t do them, perhaps we feel that we haven’t cared for ourselves!
Then we feel bad, or perhaps jealous, comparing, not as good as other mums, and the cycle continues...
Well I want to take it deeper, and also make it more simple.
Over the next few days, I would like to share my perspective of TRUE Self Care.
A way you can CARE for yourSELF regularly throughout the day which will have a massive effect on your own life and wellbeing.
It doesn’t cost a thing, you won’t have to make time for it or get a babysitter and it’s not external to you. 💕
Because to consciously experience more relief, satisfaction and joy in our lives, (the same FEELINGS that “self care” brings!), we need to pay attention to how we feel in each moment.
And make paying attention to our feelings our priority, no matter what we are doing or no matter what is going on outside of us. 💕
This may sound too hard.
Or not possible.
But it is.
So don’t dismiss it. 💕
Imagine you were able to consciously bring in the feelings of self care in any moment.
Imagine you had processes or systems you were able to implement to lift your emotions to enable you to feel good, despite your external circumstances?
Just learning to be more conscious and aware of our feelings is the first step.
Again, I am not saying we should be happy all the time. I am saying that it’s about being AWARE of how we feel. 💕
