The hubs has to work this morning, which is a bummer since Sunday is now “our day” because I work every Saturday. So as a treat I’m planning to curl up with my knitting, my puppy, a cup of coffee and The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society on Netflix. I’m excited to watch it as it has not one but two Downton Abbey actresses in it, plus I really enjoyed the book. (I’m a sucker for epistolary novels!)
Meanwhile, I’m reading Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik, one of my most anticipated releases of the year. I positively inhaled Uprooted — I was captivated from page 1 — but I’m not having the same luck with Spinning Silver. I’m over 100 pages in but I’m kinda bored and uninvested. And the brutal winter setting and Russian folklore reminds me a bit too much of The Bear and the Nightingale.
I’m definitely not disliking the book, but I’m not staying up past my bedtime to read it either. Fingers crossed that the story picks up along with my interest level!
