This is the last picture i took before entering The Underground Cave, one of The Seven Wonders of the world. And once i got inside the cave, it felt surreal. I saw bats flying all around, and some are sleeping upside down on the ceiling of the cave. It felt like i was on the other side of the Earth that i’ve never seen before. .
If you scroll to the right, that’s all the best pics i could take in the cave. It was total darkness. We only relied on our guide’s headlamp. Without it, we could only listen to the sound of water dripping, and smell the total humid scent.
All the rocks here shaped uniquely, and every one of them is considered as a living breathing. We’re not allowed to touch them because we could hurt them. Every drop of water is shaping them to be how they are now. It takes million of years, but they said “nature is a patient artist”. .
We are also told to close our mouth, because of the water that keeps dripping. The guide said, “If the water is cold, it’s holy water. If the water is warm, it’s holy shit.” (aka the bat’s poop)
We had to turn around and came back to the sun after only exploring 2km of the 80km of the cave. The other 80km is acknowledged not to be explorable for everybody. Who knows, maybe there is an alien inside. Or maybe we just wouldn’t bear with the wild life or humidity. But my theory is there is a slimy goblin inside.
