From slopes to spa, snow to steam, riding to relaxation, it was such a perfect way to recover from my week of riding by hitting the Cliff Spa at Snowbird.
It's ironic, Snowbird is a massive mountain, but to be honest, I much preferred riding at Brighton (maybe also biased because that's the name of my home town in Boston 😄). Bigger isn't always better.
Just like having more options isn't always the best or having more money doesn't lead to happiness. It depends on the situation and circumstance.
I was happy to cut my day short at Snowbird and hit up the spa instead, with the outdoor hot tub and heated pool amongst the trees, the eucalyptus steam room, sauna, solarium, and recovery yoga.
When you're going hard on your body (like driving 3,000 miles and boarding for 3 days), it's important to slow down and take care of it too. Where in your life do you need a bit more self care?? Also!! I had the pleasure to watch in person the IBU World Cup Biathlon Championship, an Olympic winter sport where competitors do both cross-country skiing and rifle shooting.
Could you handle the pressure? To go from racing as fast as you can, building up your heart rate, skiing up and down, and then needing to calm your nerves enough to shoot accurately your targets in order.
It was so exciting to watch the men and women, so lucky to have been in Salt Lake City when it was happening, and so inspired by these phenomenal athletes!
I want to learn how to cross country ski now too! 😆😆 With love and joy,
