Pride is such a funny thing. And definitely something I struggle with. I want to be respected, taken seriously and viewed as “successful.” Which is all fine until your pride of wanting that gets in the way of you making important decisions on what truly matters and what would truly make you happy. Those decisions quite literally define who you are and how happy you are. Are you choosing to make decisions based on what other people would think of you or are you choosing to make decisions based on what aligns with your goals, values, beliefs? -
Success, though, is also a funny thing. Successful, now a days, is used as a blanket adjective to describe someone that makes a lot of money/has financial freedom, etc. It is not bad to make a lot of money. I want to make a lot of money. But I also want to have lasting relationships, a strong foundation in my faith, a healthy body, etc. -
Define your own success and don’t let the pride of proving yourself to others get in the way. What do YOU truly want? And then make your decisions based on YOUR answer to that...not what you think other people’s answers would be. That=happiness.
