I’ve been holding this song close to my heart ever since @hayleyreardon & I wrote it 4 months ago.
I wanted it to be written as a simple “note to self” style song, mainly because I was anxious about leaving Nashville for 5 weeks over in Ireland... afraid that I had put too much pressure on a place that I had only dreamt about. “Would I even get to find it,
if I had the nerve to go there when it calls?
And after all this talk of leavin’, would I be brave enough to wander after all?” Well on this rainy day on Galway Bay,
I thought I’d sing it out “Don’t worry dear, time is on your side, go sing alongside Galway Bay. You’re gunna be okay.” My continuous note to self to not stay in those moments of doubt or sadness, but to be a pioneer for my own life and find another place to land... a happier and more encouraging one, a lesson I think we all fight sometimes.
I lost count of how many times I played that little voice memo in my headphones from that day we wrote it 4 months ago.. gahhh so much new music on the way
&& thank you to my kind new friends at the end of this video, for making it so pure and sweet - I can’t thank you enough for stoping to listen, it was lovely to meet you.
