Can you believe it's already been 4 years? Time has flow by and this little shop (and I) have grown so much. This photo was from the early days of the store. This was when I had just opened and had no idea what I was doing-- to be fully honest, I still don't feel like I know what I'm doing, but hey, we're still here right? I'm so incredibly excited for our anniversary party, not just because I'll get to see lots of familiar faces, but because we're really pulling together our community for this one. We've got our favorite music muse, DJ Champagne providing tunes, live illustrations from Sarah Sax art, a photo booth from Miles B photo, and treats from Kube Nice cream. It's going to be an excellent party filled with excellent people. On top of that, we've got a freshly redesigned shop and I can't wait for you to see the new setup.
Every year, perhaps prematurely, I set my New Year's goal in November and get a jump on it in December. My goal for 2019 is to have more fun and experience more joy-- this party is just a part of that. My goal for next year is more fun because it's the only way we stay in it-- what I mean by that is it's the only way we hold on to our community, the only way we stay inspired, the only way we continue to build our visions. I know sometimes when I say I have a shop and that it's more than just a place to buy things, I get a funny look-- but I mean it. Viscera is more than a place where you get a cute outfit, it's where we shift what it means to spend your dollars intentionally, it's where you can discover new creative work, and it's a space for self expression and art. Viscera is a place for being your full, authentic self and embracing who you are as a creator. We're radical, especially in trying times like we're in, now. So come celebrate, come build with us-- have a drink with us and let's have more fun! 🖤
I hope to see you there!
