I love August in my garden. It is just brimming with flowers to cut and enjoy! The cosmos are going nuts, the snapdragons are into their second bloom, and of course the hydrangea and foliage is gorgeous! The only thing in this cocktail table arrangement that I didn’t grow is the silver dollard eucalyptus, left over from a wedding. Let’s add some of these sweet little posies to your wedding! Keeping a garden is something I really think everyone should do. Big or small, simple or over-the-top, nurturing plants keeps you grounded, positive, and peaceful. It is great exercise (I just turned earth in a new garden for 2019 and every muscle is shaking!) and reminds you to slow down and appreciate small things. It forces you to be patient, and to accept failure with grace and determination.
I just don’t buy the “no green thumb” excuse. I have killed countless house plants! Others have survived on their own will and fortitude alone. I’ve watched trays of carefully-planted seeds fail to sprout or die a sad, spindly death. But the beauty of it is that you get to try again tomorrow or next season. ...
