Change is inevitable. But maaan, when you're in the middle of working through grief, it can hit even harder.
Last night amidst unforeseen change, I was reminded of the word STORY. This hit me like a ton of bricks at #creativeatheartround8. It wasn't only a word I seemed to pluck out of keynote sessions left and right, but something I seemed to uncover and pay attention to like never before: MY story. In the days since the conference, I've been challenging myself to try something new - to EMBRACE the story, with whatever twist and turns that accompany it.
Every story has a beginning, a middle and an end. Some have a few long chapters and others have many short chapters. Evey story has experiences, places, characters (the good ones and the bad ones!), lessons, challenges, change, and seasons to grow through. But unlike books, our lives don't come with a brief synopsis of what the story's about. We have to roll with the punches as they come. But because God writes such unique and complex stories for each of our lives, He positions us exactly where we need to be to fulfill His purpose in us.
So, when change occurs - and it will - instead of returning to a verrrry comfortable place of worry and grief over what used to be, I encourage you with this: It may feel like the end, but it's just the beginning of something new in the story. Trust Him. 💗 📸: #socialsquares
