Last week I experimented and made some strawberry ice cream! I had honestly forgotten about it until I started seeing all of the #nationalicecreamday posts! I was preparing my breakfast this morning (fresh berries and some Classic Sonder Granola 🤤) and I realized that I was completely out of dairy-free milk! Quick hemp milk to the rescue...

Blend approx. 1-2 tbsp hemp hearts with 1 cup water, splash of vanilla and pinch of cinnamon until smooth. That’s it, that’s all. No straining required! Does it get any easier?

Eating out can be hard on a Low FODMAP diet BUT sushi is easy. Just keep it clean & simple. My fave order is chirashi w/ tamari (gluten free soy sauce) on the side, no eel (the sauce isn’t FODMAP friendly). Currently in search of the best chirashi in LA; so far the winner is @sushitsujitala!

found a recipe for a bun that's both Gluten FREE and Dairy FREE and super easy to make! The family said it's good as well! Since I'm not a fan of many brands of gluten free varieties in stores (they also aren't so easy on the wallet), this one thrills me to bits! I have frozen these individually to enjoy with my veggie burgers this week!
I found the cassava flour at @blushlane on Whyte Ave. The Epicure add-in was topping these with Epicure Sesame Crunch Topper (part of the July customer exclusive!)

¿Tienes unos plátanos bien negros por ahí? Esta receta es ideal para ocuparlos y es ultra rápida y fácil!! Que la disfrutes igual que el feriado🌿

Con esta receta salen más o menos 12 muffins medianos o 6 muy grandes. Los medianos son ideales para llevar como snack o para las vacaciones de los niños , para hacerlos necesitas:
-
✔️3/4 taza de leche vegetal (yo usé de almendras @beegan.cl )
✔️1/2 taza de aceite (coco u oliva @foodieschile )
✔️1 1/2 plátano muy maduro molido * (también puede ser 270 gramos de puré de manzana o pera yo uso los @amatime.com_ )
✔️1/2 taza de syrup de arroz integral @foodieschile (miel o jarabe de maple también sirven)
✔️2 cdtas. de vainilla.
✔️1 cda. de polvos de hornear.
✔️2 tazas de harina integral fina (puede ser harina de avena también o harina de espelta)
✔️Opcional: 1/3 taza de chips de chocolate sin leche (ojalá de harto porcentaje de cacao)
✔️Opcional 2: 2 cucharadas de azúcar de coco o de caña orgánica (esto solo es necesario si los plátanos que usas no están lo suficientemente maduros, si no omítelo)
✔️*Si el plátano está negro mucho mejor, la receta será aún más rica.

1️⃣Precalentar el horno a 180ºC y aceitar moldes de muffins.
2️⃣Moler el plátano y unir con la leche, el syrup, el aceite y la vainilla. Revolver hasta que esté todo muy integrado. Reservar.
3️⃣En otro bowl agregar la harina y los polvos de hornear y revolver. Agregar los líquidos y revolver hasta que la mezcla sea homogénea.
4️⃣Si vas a usar chips de chocolate, este es el momento de agregarlos.
5️⃣Rellenar los moldes de muffins hasta 3/4 del molde con la mezcla.
6️⃣Meter al horno por 15-20 minutos o hasta que al meter un palito este salga seco.
7️⃣Dejar enfriar y disfrutar.

Dusting myself off from one hell of a weekend with good friends, camping, and live music. It all started with this bacon/egg/avocado on a whole wheat everything bagel.

Groups are hard so I fully tilted out of clean eating and tilted into “fun mode” this meant cold cuts & lettuce wraps for lunches/dinner, a few too many beers and s’mores.

Feeling all the normal post gluttony symptoms: bloated, puffy face, low energy, acne flair up. But! I don’t feel guilty. Just need to get back on track.

Started today with a #fabfoursmoothie and going to search out something clean for lunch. (Zero meal prep time is also a bit stressful but oh well.)

I have craved this since I opened my eyes, I’ve held off until now but I couldn’t wait any longer, one of my fave pre vegan comfort food dinners was cheesy spaghetti on toast, and the really thick spaghetti not runny Heinz. I’ve used the new koko dairy free cheddar and I love it! It’s so strange because it’s coconuty but not Tesco level? More pleasant and it’s actually very dairy cheese like in my opinion? Mondays aren’t so bad when you’ve got a bowl this good for breakfast👌🏻
Haven’t had the time/energy to post much lately, i’ve been working a ton, lots of weird hours, and my meal plan has been all over the place with easy snacks and rushed meals before shifts - nothing interesting enough to post about 💁‍♀️ But I have this morning off so I had a little extra time to whip up a yummy breakfast before an appointment with my ED treatment case manager this morning. I just finished a nine week long eating disorder group therapy program (that I really didn’t like, but that’s beside the point) - and i’ve been feeling pretty unsupported lately so i’m hoping my case manager will be able to refer me to some better supports today. Keeping my fingers crossed that something good will come from this appointment, but in the meantime i’m just enjoying this bowl full of something good for breakfast 💁‍♀️
//Bowl details: base made up of #belsoy vegan vanilla soy pudding blended with @enjoyyoso vegan coconut “yogurt”, topped with homemade cinnamon granola, unsweetened shredded coconut, banana, chia seeds, plus a drizzle of @barneybutter smooth almond butter!

Double tap if you like brownies !! 😍 No better way to start Monday off than with some BROWNIES 🍫 now these are not just any brownies- they are gluten free, dairy free, vegan and are made from sweet potatoes (they also have an adaptogen kick) - now thats something to get stoked about!! Enjoy theses with some coconut milk ice cream and you’ve got yourself a match made in heaven! So - here it is:
- 2 chia or flax ‘eggs’ - Purée from 1 large sweet potato (baked and mashed)
- 1/2 cup almond butter
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup cacao powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 2 tbs @sunpotion reishi mushroom powder
- 2 tbs maca powder
Bake at 350 for 40-50 mins- do the tooth pick test to make sure there done. 🖤
The reishi and maca are incredible for hormone balancing and relaxation. They truly have superpowers- so eat these when a) you have mad cravings b) when your hormones are a-wall or c) when you want to just chill the fuck out! I hope you enjoy these brownies! Meu poderoso leite de amêndoas cheio de cálcio e diversos outros minerais, que ao contrário do leite de vaca, não desmineraliza seu corpo😉 Bati com manga, hortelã, maca peruana (também riquíssima em minerais, tão importantes para os ossos e células) e pitada de sal de Mossoró. A manga estava tão doce que não precisou de mais nada. A combinação ficou perfeita! Refrescante e aromática.

A hortelã, é super medicinal, fantástica para quem tem o intestino irritado, aliviando os sintomas. É otima para o sistema respiratório, a digestão, alivia gases, tem poderes antibacterianos, antifúngicos e anti-inflamatórios. Cheia de antioxidantes e vitaminas, ácido fólico e a riboflavina, que protege nossa mitocôndria da oxidação.

De acordo com um recente estudo da Wheeling Jesuit University, o cheiro e o sabor da hortelã têm profundos efeitos em funções cognitivas. Isso inclui funções como raciocínio, resolução de problemas, formação de conceitos, julgamentos, atenção, e até mesmo memória.

95% almond sea salt chocolate (perfectly imperfect menu)
Coconut sugar (up to preference)
