⚖️ 4.5/10 - ’Turkey Feast Panini’
Contrary to popular praise, I thought this was pretty wank. The elements of “hmm, yeah, ok” were very much tainted with periods of “*sigh*” and “pah 😕” - it was all rather lacking in soul and the composition precision was askew. I promise you that these will start to improve; like you, I’m tired of being the John McEnroe of food writing.
🍞: cranberry panini: plentiful, that’s all I’ll say. It formed about 70% of the 🥪, bit too much for me, but a vast improvement on the supermarket ‘malted wholemeal’ I’ve depressingly lined my stomach with this Christmas.
🎅🏼: pulled 🦃, maple-cured 🥓, chestnut stuffing, Emmental 🧀 and cranberry sauce. One giant step forward for the Christmas sandwich; a giant leap for my stomach’s sanity. Not bad for a service station stop-off.
💭: this might sound weird but the turkey tasted like actual turkey and the bacon was as if you had taken it from the pan. The cranberry sauce was poorly distributed but when the ⭐️💫 aligned and you could accept that miracles might just happen, you’d get a mouthful of festive cheer. I can’t actually remember tasting the stuffing - the experience was more ‘bread containing sweet stuff’ - but no alarm 🔔 there. Perhaps some greenery? We’re heading in the right direction. I’m beginning to get my sarnie horn on and I LIKE IT.
