@kurtrawlinsfitness makes a great point here!
Missing a week or two of workouts isn’t going to plummet your progress down the drain. Scientifically speaking, muscle atrophy (muscles reducing in size due to disuse) most commonly won’t occur until you’ve stopped training for around 10-14 days!
Having a week or two off from the gym once every couple of months can actually be beneficial for your recovery and provide a much-needed rest for both your neural and muscular system, aiding in recovery and longevity in the gym. This short time off allows any minor connective tissue injuries to heal themselves, and a lot of the time, you may come back stronger if you maintained an adequate diet in your rest period.
The point I’m trying to make here is don’t get discouraged when you find yourself in need of a week or two off from the gym, this may be beneficial for your longevity in the gym and ensure you maintain a balanced life. The number one thing is to ensure that your one or two weeks off from the gym, don’t lead to a massive 2-3 months off the gym, where you will most definitely see yourself go backwards in terms of muscular size, strength and endurance and quite possibly regain weight that you worked so hard to lose
