Mistery No- 2 "Fog hi to chal raha hai"
While having lunch near the stream, @sarvesh._ was looking a bit disjointed. When I confronted him, he said "not bored as such, but not excited either". Lekin hum trek pe jaye aur maza na aye, ye ho nhi sakta. The real adventure lied ahead.
Just as we finished with our lunch, rains began pouring down (and they have not stopped untill now, while I type this). We left the serene village of surla with very few pictures, but a lot of memories. Then, we backtracked a little in the chorla ghats and took a diversion on the right which leads you to another secluded and charming village of 'Sada'. The village sits on top of a plateau, which translates to 'sada' in Konkani, thereby getting it's name. The village falls in the border regions of Dodamarg taluka of Maharashtra. Apparently, development has not reached this remote corner of India, due to obvious reasons. Just like surla, the road (you won't call it a road if you see it) connects the village to the chorla ghats which falls in Karnataka, but has no road access via Maharashtra.
Two villages we visit, and both have a similar story to tell; if not coincidence, what else?
Luckily for us, the lack of development meant an abundance of adventure! Offroading on that rocky-muddy-shaky-curvy-slippery-and-everything-freaky track was really exciting; so much so that rain was our last concern! Sometimes the slope got steeper, sometimes the soil got softer, sometimes the road was filled with boulders, while sometimes it got submerged in water. But our bikes were strong, and our spirits, stronger!
And in what better way could our spirits be rewarded! You must have already gone through the video clip.
But just like "what rises, has to fall", we too had to descend the plateau. But this time from the other side. And what lies on the other side is another mist'ery... Stay tuned!
PS- the only time when the rains bothered us was when we wanted to take pictures on our phones. So make do with whatever I could capture. The rest has been put up in the captions already!
