Yesterday we arrived at the airport #sxf in Berlin just to be informed that our flight home was canceled. Some seconds of panic, @easyjet shut down their personal costumer service because there were too many passengers that needed help, trains overbooked, next flight home Wednesday or Thursday. My dad offered us to drive us some of the way to Copenhagen but it was his last vacation day so he couldn't drive us all the way. So I called my long time friend who's living in Flensburg, asked him to meet us around Hamburg, so we could switch cars, drive with him to Flensburg (dad drives back home) to sleep at their place and get home by train from Fredericia. We called easyjet, they've let us know that our travel expenses will be covered, so we packed up the car and drove to Hamburg. We ate at the finest restaurant the highway had to offer, where the hobbit got her first #nerfgun (thank you @burgerking), and we were off to the northern border of Germany for the night. She managed to barf up everything she had inside her 5 minutes before we arrived, so we washed the kid and the car seat and went to bed. I stayed up until 2am and catched up, just like old times, the next morning there was time to play with the cats and run off some energy before we drove to Fredericia where we managed to book a train ticket home. So now we're a bit tired but happy that, given the circumstances, everything went so well. Stickers ftw! Hooray for friends. Oh yeah, did I mentioned that we took away the diaper 8 days ago? She got a diaper for the car ride but the train is diaper free.
