Have you ever stripped yourself down, uncovered the darkness of your soul to another human truly? Have you ever been judged thereafter?
It’s scary to bare your soul, to run the risk of it being used as ammunition later on. Emotional blackmail is something very real, MOST of us have done it. Not purposefully, but as a learned defense mechanism, passed down by generations before.
This can be used in a way to ‘even the playing field’ when one person feels like they’ve been wronged by the other, and they want to make sure the other person hurts as well.
When we’ve had our darkness used against us, this can make it very difficult to become one with it, to accept it as part of our evolutionary truth. We have hurt someone, and therefore see it as something to be ashamed of, not something to be learned from.
Why does this happen? Because people are scared of their own darkness. Someone who is totally comfortable with themselves won’t judge, and they certainly won’t go out of their way to make you feel bad for your mistakes and shortcomings.
The real truth is that people who are hurting are the ones who hurt purposefully. If you’re happy with yourself, why to judge? Why make someone feel bad, when it’s all good?
You wouldn’t, there’s no point. You’re just doing you.
If we truly accept ourselves and accept others as simply being in their own stage of their evolution, then judgment has no place. We can open ourselves up, expose deeper truths, and be able to evolve more rapidly and fully.
Even if you’ve had your deepest darkest secrets as ammunition to induce guilt, remind yourself that it’s not about you. It’s about their own insecurities, their own fears of feeling exposed, their pains and weaknesses that they are not ready to let go of.
Guilt and shame are the most detrimental human emotions.
Open your heart. When judgement comes, find the place where you can witness the activation you’ve triggered.
Be proud of who you are, and if you have learned from your mistakes, wear them like a badge of honour... for you are evolving just as you are meant to.
