NEURO = NERVE // PATHY = PAIN.
Peripheral Neuropathy is a frequent complication of Chemotherapy. Sensory disturbance in both hands and feet can range from mild tingling sensations to spontaneous burning pain and hypersensitivity.
While Neuropathy is often temporary and can improve once treatment has ended, some people never fully recover and are left with permanent, life-altering damage.
Trials for the prevention of nerve damage as a result of treatment are still in the early stages and, while there are complementary therapies thought to ease discomfort, there is no known cure as yet.
