I remember a year or two ago watching a short story on HBO about a Miami legend who has ran 8 miles every day on South Beach since 1975 and has never missed a day for nothing, including injuries or even hurricanes. Hurricanes Irma, Andrew, Katrina and Wilma have passed through the area, but they have not been able to keep sidelined.

When I ran into him on Muscle Beach South Beach, we had a brief conversation and he allowed me to take a few quick photos. 4 to be exact, but this one was my favorite one.
Apparently he has an exceptional memory and if you complete the 8 mile run with him, he’ll give you a nickname. Since 1975, over 2,700 people have ran alongside him and he can recall every one of them and the nickname he gave them. I think I am going to give this a shot. I might have to change my Social Meida handle ChadAndreoPhoto one day.

Easy to make, filled with protein, mmmm mmmmmm good! Single serving waffle for ☝️coming right up! If you want to make more than one serving multiply the ingredients below by the amount of waffles you need.

Ingredients
- 1 scoop @teamallmax #IsoNatural or #IsoFlex Protein Powder (any flavor will do)
- 1/4 cup coconut flour
- 3/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond or cashew milk - 1 large egg
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract - Stevia to taste -

Instructions
1. Spray your waffle maker with non-stick spray and turn heat to medium-high.
2. Whisk all ingredients together until the batter is thick and smooth.
3. Scoop 1/4 cup of the batter into the center of the your waffle iron.
4. Close and cook for 2-3 minutes
5. Repeat until all batter is used.
6. Top with your favorite topping and devour 😋

Lately I’ve been thinking A LOT and about a lot. First of all, I am by no means a perfect person and definitely have made my share of my mistakes in life, however I know what type of person I do and don’t want to be...I don’t want to be surrounded by negativity and I don’t want to be the negative space in someone’s life. I’ve learned what kind of mom, wife, friend, sister, student and all around person I want to be and sometimes the best lessons are taught to you just by observation. I want to spread positivity, love and encouragement. Of course I’m not saying I never have/will have bad days..because I have bad moments in EVERY day, but I just know that I want to be REAL, honest, positive and loving. I want to rid of all of the negativity and all of the faux’s in life (in every sense). So here’s to my REAL friends, family and allll the positive vibes ✨✌🏼

As an ex-athlete, I've had to rediscover what fitness means to me. In the highly competitive world of sports, I was constantly focused on what would make me perform harder, better, faster, and stronger. My sport brought me some great experiences and took me around the world, but mentally I struggled.

Even at the peak of my athletic physical fitness, I was insecure about my body. I was ashamed of my muscular physique. Instead of appreciating all the amazing things my body could do, I chose to be critical of it.
...
It took time to change this type of thinking, and sometimes those negative thoughts do happen. I read a recent post from @cleowade with a sentence that said, "shame is sneaky and relentless." This resonated with me, because shame was exactly what I felt. Shame that what I saw in the mirror did not match up to what I was conditioned to believe was beautiful. Even in the rare moment when I could be feeling confident in the power of my body, there would be a part of my mind that would second guess myself.

Body positivity is hard. I don't believe there is a finish line to living in complete body love. At different times in our lives, there will be different challenges. It has to be something we are willing to rediscover over and over.

Now, instead of criticizing myself, I do things that make my body feel good. As a result, I enjoy fitness in a different way than ever before. I do not feel ashamed about my strength. I may not be competing anymore, but I feel much better about myself now. I recognize there is much more to do, but that is what excites me! -- xx The Healthlete
