I love that I crushed my workout at 6 am this morning. I’m slowly transitioning to working out in the morning so it’s done for the day. I’m finding that if I wait until after work...it just won’t happen 🤷🏼‍♀️ Check out my bicep/tricep workout from this morning. 💪🏼 1. Zottman curls - 10lbs in each hand (4x20)

Let's talk legs, tush and curves in general!! I have always been so damn self conscious of my hips, legs and tush. Why?! Well I have always had curves since high school. No matter how fit I get or how small my waist can get..I always have that thicker bottom half. Just in those damn family genes. Now apparently that's the thing in a lot of the female fitness world it seems. Growing the peach and keeping them curves thick while maintaining a small waist..lucky me right?! Not really. I still am not happy with that struggle..or trouble area. I went to the gym tonight and worked on legs/glutes. All on the assisted machines though. Once I buy my own cable machine I am golden. Otherwise that side of a ridiculously busy gym I usually avoid. Which brings me to why must we always be so self conscious of such silly things?! I plan to keep working hard to shape every part of my body as I want it to be. Patience and consistency will get that for me. 💚

Low incline vs high incline bench presses...which is better?!?!? Everyone's faaaavorite answer... 😱it depends!😱 It depends on what you are trying to accomplish.

Low incline presses include these benefits: ⚔they are easier on your shoulder joints ⚔they recruit more pec fibers (than high incline) ⚔they are easier to maintain a tight upper back while performing
The incline presses include these benefits: 🏹they are far more targeted to your clavicular head of your pecs (upper chest) 🏹they target front delts a whole lot more 🏹they are tougher to perform 🏹they are more common in commercial gyms (most incline bench press set ups are high incline)
Sooooo...the best choice is what ever you are trying to build/strengthen! It is important for us to have a thought process behind our workout programs and to not just follow whatever the fitness models are doing...think for yourself, and grow for yourself!

Alright today was a GREAT day because I hit 2 new PR’s that I’m so proud about 😁 I worked Quads & Glutes. I barbell squatted 105 LBS!! & leg pressed 6 - 45 LB plates (270LBS) 😤 I felt like a boss as bitch let me tell you!!! It’s crazy next month marks 1 year into my weight lifting and I could barely leg press 50 LBS a year ago! THE GAINZ R REAL 😱 I’m just so proud of these PB’s and on a random note I found out today I am a size 6 in jeans like WHAT!?! 🤯🤯 Listen y’all, at my heaviest I was size 18 😭 February 2019 marks 3 years into my fitness journey and all I can say is this is just the beginning! Watch me grow 🌱

My favourite body-weight exercise is by far pull-ups. Not only do I ALWAYS start my back days with them, but I always ensure to incorporate another variation throughout my lift as well. Today’s pick was reverse grip pull downs!

Reverse grip lat pulldowns!
I seem to neglect any reverse grip style pulldowns and always favour the wider grip. Yes, the wider grip is harder, but to build a fully developed back you have to ensure the muscles are hit at all angles! Reverse grip pulldowns and chin-ups are both going to be incorporated into my routine a lot more often!

Tips:
1. Adjust the knee pad so it fits your height, ensure the weight isn’t pulling you off your seat. Keep your bum glued to the pad for the entire movement
2. Grab the bar with and underhand grip slightly inside shoulder width
3. Slightly lean your torso back, keep a slight arch in your lower back and your chest up and pressed out, this is your starting position
4. Pull the bar down by pulling down and back with your shoulders and upper arms until it touches your upper chest
5. Keep your elbows close to your body and the upper body stationary for the entire movement
6. Ensure the forearms are being worked by holding the bar and that’s it
