I'll never be the strongest or the fastest or the best at pretty much anything. But what I am is consistent. I am disciplined. I am dedicated. And I SHOW UP. It's never perfect. In fact, it's ugly a lot of the time, but still, I SHOW UP.
I'm the kind of person who gets overwhelmed if I think too far ahead and all the tasks that await me. I have to break it down into bite-size chunks and deal with it one step at a time. I was the girl in college who read X amount of pages in each subject a day so I wouldn't end up reading 5 chapters the night before the test. And I'm still the girl with a to-do list that has small, attainable goals that I can work towards and get closer to everyday.
It's the same with getting fit. I didn't show up to that first workout by myself in my living room almost 4 years ago thinking about the almost 50lbs I wanted to lose. I would have stopped before I started. But I did SHOW UP. And I showed up the day after that and the one after that.
Now I'm here, pretty much at my goal weight in the best shape of my life. But I haven't "arrived." I still want results. I still want to see progress. I still want to get stronger, go harder and be better. So I SHOW UP.
