Lets talk about the side leg press! Everyone does it (mostly you beautiful ladies) because they want to target the outer quad and glutes mainly (spoiler aleart: this does not build the outer quad sweep).
So let’s disect why the side leg press is done incorrectly all across instragram. So you put your foot on the leg press and turn it to the side and you tilt your whole body in the same direction but imagine, taking yourself as you are out of the leg press and just putting yourself on the floor....it's just a normal leg press..... your foot is in the same position and you twisted your body in the exact same poisition....so all you've done is just rotated your body....
Now if you turn your body on your side but position your feet so your toes are pointing up (not the same direction as your body...see video), you have now put your body in the position to replicate a sumo squat WHICH is going to target your glutes.
Ladies, I don't blame you if you have come across some "social media fitness influencer" with a flat stomach, small waist and round ass doing these incorrectly and you are just replicating what you saw because you're like "hey, she looks amazing so she must be on to something!" when truthfully she would probably would look like that even if she didn't work out. Just because she has a bunch of followers and the gymshark leggings she is wearing makes her ass look phenominal doesn't mean she knows what she is doing. QUESTION EVERYTHING! Some of these woman really only work out two times a week but are at a point in their life they where naturally have a nice body so they capatilize on it by throwing on some nice leggings, wear a crop top and say doing 3 sets of 10 with cable kickbacks are going to grow your butt.
I have tagged who I think are some credible woman that understand that in order to grow a butt you need to lift HEAVY, proper nutrition, and TIME...not just walk around doing accessory work with 20 differnt resistance bands. Also tag or send this to somone you know this would help!
