The leaves have Fall'en.... Taking Fall pictures made me wonder why this beautiful color phenomenon happens, so I looked it up. Do you know why trees/leaves change their colors? Comment if you do! And/Or read further if you want a basic explanation.
The sun helps give plants energy. Chlorophyll, found in leaves, makes leaves green and helps plants make food using sunlight. Due to the lack of sunlight, trees reabsorb the molecules that make chlorophyll from the leaves, and store them for energy during the Fall and in preparation for the winter. The process of removing the chlorophyll from the leaves is the change in colors we see! When it's warm and sunny again, the trees use these molecules to remake chlorophyll and grow their leaves again!
