Continuing the inspiration from our dinner Saturday night at The Lost Kitchen, on Sunday James, Esther, and I decided to tackle crafting one of our mutually favorite foods for the first time — homemade beef tartare. Having enjoyed homemade salmon tartare together last summer in Québéc, it was fun to put our collective hands and minds together to create a delicious summer dinner. Not to brag, but we were all very proud of our creation (plus the accompanying salmon tartare, rainbow summer salad, aforeposted fried squash blossoms, and a “tragic” Eton Mess) — to the point that it led to some after dinner music.
Summer nights are made for friends and “framily.” “Food is everything we are. It's an extension of nationalist feeling, ethnic feeling, your personal history, your province, your region, your tribe, your grandma. It's inseparable from those from the get-go.” -Anthony Bourdain
