IGG blood tests are a finger prick blood test that is supposed to reveal hidden food allergies that could be effecting your health.
Unfortunately I have seen this test cause more harm than good. It is also safe to say it holds no scientific validity.
What does it measure?
Exposure to products and NOT an true allergy.
Example : Buddy Ralph eats bananas everyday and feels great after eating them. The test says he’s allergic... why?
Because these tests measure exposure, so if eating a sh@t tonne of bananas your IGG will naturally go up... This is why people are blown away when “all of the foods I eat regularly are positive” 🤔
What’s the downfall?
People stop eating all of the foods they like, fearing they are allergic. Often eating gluten free bread and a handful of vegetables. This does not help the person and only creates fear, limited dietary choices and poor nutrition. This can actually make their medical issues much much worse.
Could one of those foods be making you feel horrible? Sure, but this isn’t the test to find out. Eating dairy make you bloated and feel gross?
Gonna guess and say you are intolerant of dairy 🥛
wheat products make you itchy? I bet your sensitive to wheat or gluten.
Does eating wheat make your throat close and hard to breathe ? Then you need a real allergy test ordered by a physician.
One study found eliminating cows milk actually caused increased levels of IGG for milk ... 🤔 But that doesn’t make sense... Save your money folks ....
