The Lexus LFA was the ultimate example of a halo car. Toyota made a loss on each one (despite a $375,000 MSRP) due to how much R&D went into it. From the 9,000rpm naturally aspirated V10 built from scratch to the Yamaha partnership to craft one of the most distinct exhaust notes ever to the full carbon construction, even @jeremyclarkson1 called it "the best car I've ever driven." All to make a statement: that Toyota still had Motorsport in its DNA and that Lexus was no longer an underdog.
And then production ended and they never made a replacement.
