I get asked a lot on how I created Draped. When I’m feeling cheeky, I’ll say I hit rock bottom and then wait for a puzzled face. You have to understand, for me rock bottom actually became a solid foundation on which I rebuilt my life. After my former job dismantled the woman’s counseling program, every door I tried to walk through after that closed in my face. At the same time I was battling one of my worst cases of depression and relentlessly fighting for my will to carry on. I lost everything in the fire of change, except for my willpower. Fortunately, when you’re at rock bottom the only way to go is up. From there I was able to rebuild myself and my life and how I lived it. Within this rebuilding came my dream-built-into-reality, Draped.
Hitting rock-bottom isn’t the end of the world, it’s just the beginning of building a new one.
