Truly amazing few days in Greece so far.
A couple of days ago I was walking alone around Athens seeing beautiful places and eating good food. I was waiting for a permit to go into one of the refugee camps in Athens and the reply didn't come easy. At some point I was asking god to show me the people I need to meet to make my way to the right places to meet refugees and 10 min later I bump into efi & gilli from israel. We had an awesome afternoon of conversation, laughter and beer. I went back to the hotel to sleep and I had a good sleep in so I missed the hotel breakfast, without even thinking or really waking up I grabbed my computer and walk down to the lobby to check if I got a reply. I sat right next to 2 awesome people @lamacias_ and Sam, we start talking and they just got back from 3 month in at the camps in #lesvos they give me a full download, contacts and as we speak I check my messages and it was full of replies, even from messages I wrote a few month ago. In 2 hours first thing in the morning I had replies from all directions sending me to the same places and the same contacts... This was a definite confirmation of where I'm heading and I'm doing the right thing.
In 2 hours I got tickets to lesvos, had a place to stay at a Voulenteer house with @Raphael I picked up 5 Ukaleles2 flutes 3 shakers for Jen sherrill from Chicago to drop at mosaik school. I got the the best music shop in Athens that provided discounted rates for refugee projects with kind, professional and a big smile @georgepolydorou you are the best!
I took off to Lesvos and had amazing meetings and playing music with refugees already and the rest will come in the next post... I'm filled with energy and drive for this harsh place filled with beauty on a magical Greek island. #moretocome
