This begins our series of posts of Stories of Women I’m Dharma 🙌
What is your story around your journey of you being you? We will be featuring women who want to share their story. DM me if this is calling to you!
I’ll start. Hi, I’m Krista. Co-founder of Women in Dharma, wife, daughter, sister, seeker. But these are just labels... 🌀
My Dharma, like yours, is ever expanding. I’d like to share a poem that captures my Dharma story as of right now, written about me by my soul-sister and WID team member @deedeemorrisphotography 💜
"My story begins with my ancestors. One with Earth. They knew her secrets. They knew her wisdom. I come from them. Their blood flows through me as does their strength, beauty and wisdom. You will find that I am you and you are me and we are worthy. We ARE in the divine timing of every little thing.
You and I sink my feet into the earth to connect to the wisdom of my ancestors. I dance on the bones of the earth. I feel her rhythms in my soul. I ebb and flow, I dance and sing to the cadence of her. I am Earth and she is me. My ancestors knew this and I know this. I close my eyes and I remember.
I bring with me hope and joy, love and laughter. I carry the song of the mother and reside in her womb and she in mine. We are connected. You see. You and I, she and you. me and you. I carry them with me in my pockets. They carry me with them into the divine. I dance with the strength of you. I dance with the bones of the ancestors. They give me power and they give me grace.
My days are inhabited by love and strength, power, gentlenss. The significance of me is washed to the shore by the waves crashing at your feet. You are the significant. Because you are me. I am you. We are we and we are she.
Connected, invisible strings that bring us to our knees, we hold each other up to bring us to our knees to hold us up. And what if we waited there, sang there, communed. Connected.
What if we are Earth. What if we are Dharma. What if we are only the beautiful cadence of natural rhythms. Together. Will you join me? Will you dance with me and sing this song of LIFE? Strong, beautiful, wise, power-ful, grace filled one? Here is my hand”
