This part of the installation was inspired by the shadows cast under the live oaks along Carrollton. I was thinking about the line between comfort and claustrophobia, between shelter and captivity.
I cut the collagraph plates in Vermont 3 years ago, dyed the paper with Chamomile tea back in New Orleans (ty French Truck) 2 years ago, & then printed incrementally over the course of the next year in the Loyola shop so the piece could grow larger than my body. It’s the longest I’ve ever worked on a piece
The installation “A Tussle with the Genius Loci” closes next week, DM to drop in.
