🌿 I’m a peace maker at heart and lately I’ve been trying to be more intentional about showing kindness and acting out forgiveness. Every night I read a bible story to my son. He’s habitual like me and he can’t go to sleep if I don’t. Tonight we read the story about Stephen being stoned and what echoed in my heart the loudest was this, “While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” Then he fell on his knees and cried out, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” When he had said this, he fell asleep.” Even in the midst of being stoned to death his heart’s cry reflected his relationship with Jesus and he was engulfed in living and carrying out the life and love Christ died for. My goodness- what a conviction to forgive, to accept forgiveness even when we don’t deserve it and to live a life of kindness no matter what.
