AFRICAN OPEN UNIVERSITY: From the archives: The late Prof. Walter Rodney --as only he does best-- in "A Historical Class Analysis of Guyanese Society" explains the qualitative difference in #racism prior to the 17th century. It was during capitalist accumulation that racism was 1) institutionalized as an integral part of the production system 2) used to assign access to resources, and 3) used to assign roles in the production relations. The narrative of white supremacy was also disseminated with the manipulation of racist ideologies (and continues to be propagated) to justify the exploitation.
Brother Rodney also taught in Tanzania.
