If any of you saw my Ig stories about my dear friend Fran, I am devastated to say, she has passed away today, and no longer in pain.
We met Fran on our trip to Egypt. When we saw Fran and Sherry in the lobby both canes in hand and arms in slings we thought the trip was going to be exhausting and slow. But boy were we wrong. Egypt is one of our favorite places in the world and we know it’s mainly because of the people we met, and the stories we have with them.
Fran was so brave. She was in remission of brain cancer and knew this was going to be her last chance to see the ONE place in the world she always dreamed of most, EGYPT. What I loved the most about Fran is she wasn’t afraid, she didn’t care that she needed to pack a full size carry on luggage for all her medication or that she needed a cane to walk, or the fact her arm was in a sling. She was determined to see this gorgeous country for her own eyes. A lot of people would be too scared to step on a plane in such a fragile state and travel across the world, and to the Middle East if that! But not Fran. Chris quickly became their body guard because they were so slow at walking and the Egyptians would crowd them to buy whatever they may be selling. I will never forget the memories we have with her. And although we were only together for 10 days we felt like we knew them forever. I will never forget when Fran took the first look at the pyramids and the Sphinx she had tears streaming down her face. Or when we climbed in King Tuts tomb and laid eyes on his real life mummy!!! (See Egypt holds a place in our heart so dear, we named our dog after that trip) That my friends is what life is all about! Thank you Fran for being so brave and taking a trip of a lifetime. Thank you for hanging my camel photo I took in your bedroom, and thank you for all the laughs in Egypt when things were getting pretty intense. We love you. If i could learn anything from Fran it would be, just go, do it! No matter your health, state of mind, money, relationships, fear, anything! You have one life, live it to the fullest, and regret nothing! So Rest In Peace my friend we will miss you. Swipe Right to see cute little Fran!
