Does sewing help you relax, improve your mindfulness or centre you? Do you itch to get back to it if you’ve been away too long? 😊 Does it soothe the need to be creative? 🤔

We all know life is not smooth sailing......it’s how we deal with those bumps in the road, those unexpected curve balls and the sense of having no control.
Sometimes we are consumed with grief, depression, stress, illness, feeling overwhelmed, alone, lonely or isolated. 😢
Losing oneself in any task including sewing can be its own form of therapy. .
Charlie’s blog (October 2016) @thisblogisnotforyou “6 Reasons Why Sewing Benefits Your Mental Health” lists some reasons why sewing is beneficial to you. (The link is in the bio or google)
Charlie is a psychologist as well as a sewer. “Being mindful is very important in today’s ever-accelerating world in order to keep your balance and peace of mind” Charlie writes. .
Another blog of Charlie’s is: “We need to stop making our hobbies stressful” .
Importantly she says: “It’s where we find peace and quiet and sense of self”. 😊
As a SewOver50 community we have been buoyed by our followers’ supportiveness, not only of us but of each other and sometimes that one kind comment can make someone’s day. 😊
