NYC 🗽. Travel diaries 📓. Chelsea. A pic is more than a thousand words? Maybe... But just in case: don't you mind if I leave you today with this text from a book "Daily rituals" by Mason Currey?
Here it goes:
“... The ancient Greeks did not draw a hardline distinction between mythical and logical thinking the way we contemporary English speakers try to do. Their words MYTHOS and LOGOS both mean “story” or “account”. Each offers an informed way to understand the universe: the logical, scientific, and empirical, on the one hand; and the mythical, intuitive, sensed, and experienced, on the other. Truth revealed through logos seeks to be objective and universal. Truth by way of mythos is unabashedly subjective and personal. It comes through contemplation and insight, often by considering the nature of the universe or internal reflexion. (...) Both are integral to knowing and understanding.”
Just this 🤓.
No, please don't consider it a dry old piece of philosophy, as in that book it's mixed up with biographies, essais, diaries, and woven into insightful read.
So why did I patch it on Chelsea? Because it makes sense, and because Chelsea is a glimpse into the modern art, and art is neither logical nor mythical. Or maybe both 🤓?
What is it then? I leave it open now. Any thoughts? Please comment 🤗. Either way I get back to Chelsea again in one of my next posts. Curious 🤓? Double-tap then 💚.
