California update: 3 days later, and I have yet to find a somewhat, decent cup of coffee. Unfortunate. I'm in Mammoth Lakes currently. The air smells of Pine with a hint of Fir. Clean and refreshing. The sky a vibrant blue with not a cloud in the sky. Epic scenic views for days. I met a man in his late 60's yesterday at one of the many lakes here. He had a guitar and about 20 different harmonicas. He was nothing but smiles and laughter as he sipped his wine and sat underneath a tree playing music. He performed a song that was incredibly beautiful. Afterwards he said, " My wife and I were married for 26 years, she passed away a few years ago but I still write songs for her." He made me cry. He truly played from his heart & soul. I think that's what made him so great. He invited us to come back at 1am to jam out under the stars, but that's way past my bedtime I ended up at the Volcom Brothers Skate Park around dusk last night. What a place! The park is extremely scenic ( good for pics) and from the looks of it, super fun to skate. However, it's not just the concrete, rails, and bowls that are appealing here. The guys that ride here are not only talented but quite exceptional human beings. If you are ever in Mammoth Lakes, I highly recommend this park. .
