I don’t own a scale🙅🏻‍♀️🙅🏻‍♀️. I get weighed once a year at the 👨‍⚕️.

More often than not—you’re not gonna notice the scale moving first. It’s the non-scale victories that you’ll notice. You see some muscle definition in your arms...your pants aren’t so tight at the waist...(🙌🏻)Your pant legs may get loose but they very well may get tighter—mine did!! It depends what you’re trying to do and how you’re doing it. I wanted more definition which meant I was adding muscle💪🏻.

Bottom line—it’s not a quick thing. It takes time⏰ and effort. It’s a lifestyle change—a decision to become a healthier and HAPPIER you! ✨
All it takes is you finding your motivation and saying “Let’s do the damn thing!”

3 SUNDAY STEPS TO KICK ASS THIS WEEK 👇🏼

⚡️ we’ve alllll heard the saying, “a sunday well spent brings a week of content”- and if that’s true then a Sunday spent goal setting, food prepping and focusing on #selfcare must bring a week of totally kicking ass 💪🏼✨🔥 right?

Here are 3 things to do on a Sunday to set yourself up for success for the week ahead! 🏆👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼

1️⃣ SCHEDULE IT OUT- sit down and map out your week- plan your meals, schedule in time for exercise (day, time and type@of exercise- get specific!) and forecast any important things that need to get done so you’re ready to hit the ground running when you wake up on Monday.
2️⃣ MEAL PREP- take that list of meals from the previous step and head to the grocery store! Meal prep can seem daunting but an easier way to do it is to just make bulk veggies + protein. Make a big batch of some roasted veggies, whip up some baked sweet potatoes or quinoa and prep some easy protein choices like chicken thighs or meatballs. You can then prep the meals as to go, depending on what you’re in the mood for and how hungry you are! (hormone health tip- try to avoid plastic Tupperware! Use glass whenever possible ✨)
3️⃣ GO TO BED EARLY- this is my favorite one 😌😴 #babygrandma 🤶🏼 the best way to make sure you start your week off on the right foot is to wake up feeling refreshed, energized and ready to take on the week. For a lot of people, Monday’s can set the tone for the week ahead and starting off your Monday morning feeling rested is major 🔑 get in bed extra early and spend some time journaling, reading, mediating or even just relaxing with some #netflixandchill 📺 the goal is to unwind and calm your mind so you can fall asleep early, get a good nights sleep and wake up ready to crush your goals 🔥

🔥🔥 Cycle 2 of SMASH & Burn began this weekend! It all starts with heavy legs. So I wanted to show the Eccentric Squat which is included in Day 1 (and should be included in your leg day too).

Shown are two examples of Eccentric Squats. (Sumo and Bench squats) Eccentric form concentrates on slowing down the lowering phase ⬇️ (lengthening). Adding these exercises to your workout assists in building more muscle mass and staving off DOMS (muscle soreness). You're able to strengthen throughout the full range of motion and create a stronger mind-muscle connection. Another benefit is that by creating more mental engagement, you're also able to improve technique since you're more focused and aware. .

So a tip to trying this technique is counting to 5️⃣ while you're lowering and then straighten up normally.

Starting my personal trainer certification program today!! Making huge steps for me to be honest. For me this is a huge deal because when I first got diagnosed with Crohn's and ulcerative colitis, I had to drop out of school cause I was sleeping/super fatigued for 16 hours a day. Finally after 3 years of self healing and working my ass off to turn my life around. I get the chance to do something I really love and enjoy!!! I'm beyond excited!! Thank you to everyone who has supported me and has pushed me this far! My life starts now!

I regularly tell anyone who will listen how much I HATE running 😭🤢🤮 I'll happily do sprints, HIIT, prowler runs but steady state and me are not friend 😑🤣 I also keep harping on to clients about setting end of year goals, pushing themselves outside their comfort zone & overcoming mental blocks/challenges.

I've never been bothered to do more than a 7k run because it's boring, I'm mildly uncomfortably for far too long and it seems never-ending 😩
But I promised cleints I'd do a 10k before the end of this year - 1 of my mini year end goals.
Today was, very reluctantly 😒, the day I followed through on that promise, so here I am, sweaty bum and all, finishing out my 10k.
Physically I was well able but i swear, i felt like giving up every 2 minutes. Luckily for me I had my otherhalf with me telling me to stop giving out and get on with it 😂🤣 We have a few weeks to go guys, set some goals and smash then before the end of 2018!

After a weird and wonderful 24hour bug we are all feeling a little better tonight....Now to focus, a new week is about to begin! After 6 weeks of pushing I gave myself a less intense week on the plan, this was to enable me to recover and recoup......have stayed active, kept my diet balanced and enjoyed the rest! Your best weight is whatever weight you reach when you are living the healthiest life you actually can enjoy.

I’ve been in amazing shape over the past 8 years and ... not so good shape (fit-ish) 🤷🏻‍♀️but what I’ve realized is neither one made me truly happy. Chasing perfection only made me obsessive and not actually enjoying life or or enjoying time with friends and family.

It’s awesome to have goals but if those goals are keeping you from enjoying the process or loving yourself, is that goal worth it? Are you working out and following “the meal plan” you like and enjoy because you do in fact enjoy it or do you feel you have to do it to lose weight or fat??
▪️
I want to remind you all to write down your goals, find something you enjoy, that you will actually stick to and trust the process. This isn’t a short term thing and definitely not a quick fix. Implement daily actions that you want over a long period of time.

It’s taken me a long time to like myself . To be comfortable with who I am, to post pictures without makeup and looking sweaty at the gym. It’s taken a lot to admit I struggle with training. I’ve come a long way this year, been through a lot and I so grateful I have all the brilliant people around me that I do. My family, friends and my one and only @city_k9 without these guys I don’t know if I would be in the place I am now, spiritually, mentally physically.
