Salute to the family in #SouthAfrica for standing up 👐🏾💯👐🏾💯. Now before yall fix yall thumbs to say this post is bashing Queens who choose to straighten their hair - IT IS NOT 🙅🏾. Our Black Queens are extremely versatile when it comes to so many things, including hair and they should be free to wear their hair EXACTLY how they CHOOSE to do so.
🚨🚨🚨 However. It goes without saying that Black people (especially Black Women) have been made to feel bad via the media and in real life that they aren't good enough or aren't truly beautiful when rocking their natural crowns and THAT is unacceptable. How many times have you been told by family that you gotta "look presentable" for a job interview? Which meant you better NOT wear your fro, locks or any natural style to said interview.
Sure it has become "more acceptable" over the years, but this video is further proof that fhe bullshit hatred still exists, even amongst our own. We should NOT have to conform to make OTHERS feel comfortable. Salute to Queens such as @emmadabiri , Rachael Sealy and Abena Hagen for continuing to spread the message of Black Beauty & also Young Queen @zulaikhapatel for her Blacktivism and fight over previous years of defending the fro ✊🏾. Without Black Women we would not BE. And BLACK HAIR is powerful, which is why it frightens them. Our hair are the antennas to the Universe.
