SUNRISE H A L E A K A L A VULCANO TRIP at 3055 meters
I think it is one of the most beautiful places i've been so far!
We got up rather early, at 4 a.m. started our ride to the Haleakala Crater a bit later and realized that the drive to the summit takes over 1,5 hours (we expected 50 minutes) Sooo... we drove a bit faster then allowed and luckily arrived in time. Sunrise is at 5:58 a.m. (we reached the destination at 5:54 a.m.) If you wanna go there, don't forget to make a “SUNRISE RESERVATION“ at the website quite a time before because just a limited number of cars are allowed to see the spectacle between 3 a.m. and 7 a.m.
If all the days are fully booked you can go online 2 days before at 4 p.m. At this time they offer a small number of tickets for 1,50 $ (we did option 2 and were successfull ) ALL IN ALL... this was my highlight in MAUI! If you travel there, DO IT! You will not regret it! And there are not too many people! Afterwards i can recommend a hikingtrail in the craterlandscape... it's breathetaking! (Pictures and advices will follow )
“I decided that it was not wisdom that enabled poets to write their poetry, but a kind of instinct or inspiration, such as you find in seers and prophets who deliver all their sublime messages without knowing in the least what they mean.” ~ Socrates ~ Gold Coast, Qld, Au -
