I can’t believe I forgot to make my #MoonDay post yesterday!! Well, I didn’t write it down like I have to do everything so yes, I can. .
It took me years to realize I don’t see the moon like most people. Look at the moon in this #NASA clip. When I look up, THAT is what I see, even without either of my #telescopes. Any night I go outside and she is up, I always, always say “Night, Selene”.
.
I have always said if I could go ANYWHERE in the universe and not suffer consequences, even a mysterious black hole, I would choose to go to the moon. And it’s right there. And it’s glorious. .
Fun Fact: Jana, the consort of the two faced God Janus, was the Etruscan Goddess of the Moon. Me and the moon go way, way, way back together 😍❤️❤️ We are a part of each other after all. ❤️

The exorbitant cloud cover ruined another observatory night (we just want to see Mars while it's super close, dang it), so we all whipped out our SkyView apps and checked out all the planets anyway. Clouds = 0, Technology = 1.

Today is the 49th anniversary of Apollo 11! Enjoy these real NASA mission images from what was the monumental spaceflight that landed the first two people on the Moon. Who here remembers watching broadcast coverage live?

Using images from the Apollo 11 Mission thanks to Project Archive Apollo, we put together this journey to the moon and back. Music by State Azure, images by NASA.

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////We took this photo through a telescope. It was so funny because of the movement of the moon, and putting the phone on the lens without moving anything was not easy 😂😂.

The beginning of everything, the bigbang, is one of the most mysterious and puzzling event to have ever occurred but allow me to explain how the Bigbang happened-well part of it. Contrary to popular belief the bigbang wasn't an “explosion” it was an “expansion” of space stretching in every single direction possible. Before the bigbang there was nothing (in the literal sense) then something begun to exist in the nothing and that something was called space which gradually expanded itself to create more space, thus there is no such thing as “beyond the universe" it's just the universe, period. At the beginning of time the universe was smaller than an Atom (plank’s scale) then enlarged to the size of a football and so forth but at that time the universe was so hot that energy manifested itself I from of fundamental particles known as Gluons that existed for the smallest possible amount of time (plank’s time). From these Gluons,  pairs of quarks(fundamental particles) were created which would annihilate each other. As the universe expanded matter and antimatter had a war but instead of equivalently annihilating each other matter won over antimatter, right after this massive mystery the universe was split from one singular force into several different forces (nuclear force , gravity, weak nuclear force ,etc). (Few million years later the universe has become quite huge and quite cool to allow the formation of the very first hydrogen atoms  since quarks stopped being formed out of gluons. These quarks formed a new particle known as hadrons(make up protons, etc), and as universe grew to be bigger and cooler these hadrons became more stable. (Keep reading in the comments 👉)

Parker Solar Probe will be the first-ever mission to "touch" the sun!
@nasa's Parker Solar Probe will make 24 orbits of the star before swooping into the outermost part of the solar atmosphere, known as the corona, to study the sun "personal"☀️ The Parker Solar Probe will study how heat and energy move through the corona and explore what accelerates the solar winds that affect Earth and other planets🛰️ The launch is set for July 31 THIS YEAR❗️ Are you excited?

The Moon was illuminated by 59,5%, last night.

I took this Moon image in daylight when the Sun is 4,5 degrees above the western horizon.

Taken on 20.07.2018 8:00 pm. local (+3 UTC)

20% of 10000 frames stacked.

I haven't got a tracking system so I tracked the Moon by hand. I removed handshaked frames by VirtualDub. 'Center object' with PIPP. Stacked with Registax. Wavelets with Astraimage and Adjustments in Astraimage and Photoshop.

Taken through Skywatcher Explorer 200P and Canon EOS 650D on prime focus.

At first glance, it may seem as though this image was taken through a faulty lens, but the mind-bending distortions visible in this impressive image taken with Hubble’s Wide Field Camera 3 are actually caused by a cosmic phenomenon.

The bright galaxies at the center of the frame belong to the galaxy cluster SDSS J1336-0331. The enormous gravitational influence of the cluster warps the very shape and fabric of its environment (the space-time around it), creating an effect known as strong gravitational lensing. Through this effect the light from background galaxies in the line of sight to the observer is bent into fantastic arcs. This effect is very useful for studying distant background galaxies.

Moreover, SDSS J1336-0331 is interesting in itself: the cluster was part of a study of star formation within Brightest Cluster Galaxies (BCGs — the brightest galaxies within their host clusters). Typically located in the centers of their clusters, BCGs are among the most massive and luminous galaxies in the universe. They are generally huge elliptical galaxies and are likely to host active galactic nuclei in their cores. The study found evidence to suggest that BCGs are fueled by cold gas from the galaxy. It also showed that star formation in older BCGs no longer significantly contributes to the galaxy’s growth; instead, the stellar growth occurs through mergers, the collision of two galaxies. Violent, gas-rich major mergers can trigger intense bursts of star formation in their aftermath.

Somewhere over the rainbow there is the Moon 🌘🌌
Moon 🌙
The Moon is an astronomical body that orbits planet Earth, and is Earth's only permanent natural satellite. It is the fifth-largest natural satellite in the Solar System, and the largest among planetary satellites relative to the size of the planet that it orbits.

The Moon is thought to have formed about 4.51 billion years ago, not long after Earth. The most widely accepted explanation is that the Moon formed from the debris left over after a giant impact between Earth and a Mars-sized body called Theia.
The Moon is in synchronous rotation with Earth, and thus shows always the same side to earth, the near side.
The moon is after the sun the second-brightest regularly visible celestial object in Earth's sky. Its surface is actually dark, although compared to the night sky it appears very bright. Its gravitational influence produces the ocean tides, body tides, and the slight lengthening of the day.
