Gradually getting over last week's illness and returning to our 'normal'. Smiles are returning and washing loads are back at copable.
Our girl is finally smiling again and being a right diva. I mean, fairdoos to her. Dexter, as always, is the only one who can make her really laugh and he's been a star trying to get those elusive chuckles.
I found myself feeling a bit 'flat' the past 24hrs. I wasn't really sure why but I realised, although I've had lots of visitors, friends and family checking in on me and the crew (thanks everyone), I've inadvertently not really left the house very much. I say inadvertently. Maybe not. Now I think about it I've probably been a bit anxious about being out and about (also, I'm hyper aware of germs and getting bugs; I also don't want to pass them on). Sometimes, looking after a kid with a complex medical condition can feel like a bizarre mix of monotony and fight-or-flight. One minute your doing another feed, another round of meds, more physio, then the next you are in a&e handing over an emergency plan and listing co-morbidities.
But that's the illness, the condition not the child. Not Nova. Nova is funny, determined, and loves crinkly things. She likes to eat houmous and hates it when I leave the room. She's awesome.
Chris sent me and Dexter exploring earlier, we've been fed this afternoon and I'm feeling much brighter. I'm looking forward to Netflix and chill and then a run in the morning. ✌
We have to keep a food diary for Nova ready for clinic on Wednesday any tips welcomed...wish me luck!
