#7DaysofSacredSelfCare (Day 5)
Quality solo Time ✨✨✨
I’ve been a “people person” since I started talking and walking. I love being around other people, being social. I’ve never suffered from social anxieties, or feared large crowds. In fact, many would say I thrive in social settings.
Which is why, I think, it took me so long to comprehend that I don’t feel restored after socializing. That my deepest sense of peace and calm and rest comes from being alone. Especially, being alone doing the things I love most, nature walks, yoga, travel planning, traveling, etc
Many of my friends love to shop together, go to the movies, try new things together...and to be honest I prefer doing all of that solo!
It’s fascinating to me, that I’m adept socially, make friends easily, constantly have social invitations, and yet crave a LOT of solo time.
Getting to know ourselves and what refuels us is the most useful and rewarding exploration. Which is why @thechillyogi and I started this challenge last year. It’s really just an inquiry for you to discern which self-care practices leave you feeling refreshed.
So, today, tomorrow, or anytime before Monday, take yourself on a date. Have a picnic. Go to a class, alone. Go to the movie theater, alone. Eat at a restaurant, alone. It doesn’t matter what it is, as long as it’s something where you’re purposefully alone, not circumstantially! Enjoy it! Savor it! Tell us how it goes! 🙏🏻✨🙏🏻
